Public Enemies

"Frogs' eyes do not stop a cow
from drinking water in a river," - Kimeru Saying.

We found ourselves kissing
near a parking lot. It was deep,
passionate and warm. I held
her so close I could feel her heartbeat
on my chest.

In the midst of kisses,
some eyes rolled,
with the look of "go find a room!"
written on their faces.

We had become social outcasts,
for displaying love around the elderly,
children, and priestly class. As our laws
demand, it is not right to express actions
that would make anyone uncomfortable.

Still, we went on kissing.....

Love could not pretend in public places.
