Love Poem: Posturing

Posturing

By the gut this stubborn love rules me
By the throat it casts me to silence
By the hand it leads me
By the eyes it seeks me out
With head wrung and dizzy
Cast in spell that keeps mind wickedly iffy
I am the proof and living, though barely
Barely strong enough for standing
As I give it mouth
It sheads my dignity
And I give it life
While it parodies my sensibilities
Making of me fool
Fool that is startled easily
Then left to pass in shadows whose form is deceiving
What deceptive plans have you for me?
What schemes lay ahead in waiting?
To trip me up, to send me to my knees
Falling foolishly in love again it seems.
