Love Poem: Poison Kisses

Poison Kisses

I think i know why
                          people kiss with their
                          eyes so tightly closed
                          because
they are afraid of opening their eyes
                          to find the monstrous
                          poison on them,
                           the poison
of love stitching shut their mouth,
                          coursing it's poison into their
lips, and it resides there forever
hurting until the only way to rid themselves
of it is to bleed it out
slowly, quickly, too little too much
                         effecting
them in all they do, yes they feel it
                          bleeding them from the
                          inside out,
leaving nothing but holes
                          yes
nothing, a blank space where once
                          maybe there was flesh
                          feeling, love
                          a heart?
But: it doesn't matter now
because all they have to show
for kissing with their eyes so
                           tightly closed are:
scars staring back at them
                           from the inside out
                           eating away at
insanity until they laugh and
                           laugh at those fairy tales
and lies all because those kisses
                          blinded them, and they
took a fall for a monster

In the so called name of love.
