Love Poem: Places

Places

I fell for you at first sight
When we dance together all night
The old school gym had seen better days
As we swayed through clouds in a lovers gaze

The first date night I held you tight
Zombies were a fright, the movie was just right
We held hands as we walked slowly home
Somehow I knew I was never again alone

Our favorite pizza parlor just a whole in the wall
You would order just a slice and never eat it all
The city park where we would feed the ducks
You pushed me in the lake but it was fun making up

The drives into the country never seem to last
Somehow we always managed to run out of gas
Sitting in church thinking naughty thoughts
Wondering if our eyes would get us caught

Watching our favorite TV shows in the den
Somehow we never got to see how they end
Memories we share so many places we have been
But it is the simple ones we treasure in

Places I enjoy are the ones with you
Places that make me smile I shared with you
When times have us being apart
The one place I keep you is in my heart.
