Philosophical Poetry Week: Woeful Wednesday

Sorrow at the state of the world
So much sadness simply hurled
At the TV, and life as we know it
Still has yet to be unfurled.

Oh what is to be done?
                Spread love everyone.
                               Stop the woe
                               Before you go.
                Help the battle be won.

Woe at disasters coming my way
Poverty, inflation, minimum pay
What can we do but hold up our
Hands and stay alive today.
Oh what is to be done?
                Spread love everyone.
                               Stop the woe
                               Before you go.
                Help the battle be won.

Despair at the despots that rule
The globe, murder still isn’t cool
But goes on, and what can we do
But sit and play the fool.

Oh what is to be done?
                Spread love everyone.
                               Stop the woe
                               Before you go.
                Help the battle be won.

Anguish at the anger of violent
Action occurring, we stay silent
As the world turns to dust around
Our ears; we keep lent.

Oh what is to be done?
                Spread love everyone.
                               Stop the woe
                               Before you go.
                Help the battle be won.
