Perfect Love

Wore my heart on my sleeve That’s just what they said Like a child inside I grieved When there was pain to be had There was a twinkle in my eye Like the stars, it seemed to smile All the way up to heaven on high Where it would stay for a while Welcomed the laughter and play That seemed to relieve the fear Grace like this will never betray It wipes away the silent tear Never knew a stranger at heart Felt like love was strong enough To carry me in a way to outsmart Those who would surely rebuff There were wishing wells around Where I was the first to test For joy and love that would abound On angel’s wings that were so blessed Painted on the night sky in mauve Were poems alive with a song Caressing the spirit so suave With tenderness all my life long Breathless moon glowing ginger On a night when the stars are all hiding Reassuring feelings that would injure Reflections of love will be guiding Falling across the naked skin On oceans of whispery sensitivity There lives a joy deep within Brilliant, alive with God’s creativity Prayers for the moment cry out Will He send His angels to direct? There is the assurance and no doubt With Him leading, love will be perfect!
