Love Poem: Pegasus Rider

Pegasus Rider

I gave lightning its thunder
Hotter than a thousand suns
Heaving gale winds into the atmosphere
I’m a typhoon riding the waves,
...reaping trees out by the roots
When I surrender my altitude

This close to the face of the earth
My eyes caught your irresistable sight
Cupid’s arrow shot me down
I caught my breath in your heart
Seeking the company of your thoughts
Oh, such a beautiful mind

Your eyes saw me in half
Cut me down to my knees
My sword is blunt against your shield
Unsheathed in the cold of the night
My metal armour melts in your glow

You held me like a wish
Come true
You caught me like a fish
Oceans blue
I fell into a dream
And found you
When your tears filled my palms
I was washed anew

Ploughing the wonders of the cosmos
Sowing the endless interstellar fields
Riding the continuous sunset
Tired of wrecking ships and tumbling castles
I couldn’t stay away from your love

Could there be another for my stable
When I only knew my solitude?
I could ride the universe...
Forever feel the solar wind in my hair
Navigate the stars on companionship

I come with a sealed message
From the ends of time
I bring you this ancient passage
Just as I've bestowed valour unto knight
To drink love from my radical stream

I couldn’t betray the joys of this day
So I gave daybreak its night
I could never tell what's on your mind,
But It’ll all be apparent forever after
How much your pair of wings mean to me
