Love Poem: Paying the Price For Love

Paying the Price For Love

In the wee hours between dreams of fantasy
And before REM sleep appears with common sense
These hours bring forth apparitions
That in no way make sense

Yet there you are
Playing with my feelings
Disturbing my sleep
Taking off your night clothes

Enticing me more than should be allowed
But spare me the foreplay rhetoric
No more teasing
Come lay down next to me

You lay next to me and we began to cook
But the cooking does not go well
The entire time dreaming of you
Fuels my senses but it is not real

Trying to make dreams real sucks
Though you are real
You’re not here
You’re there next to her

The torture, my mental torture
Knowing I can’t live without you
But no matter what I do there is no forgetting
The nightmare is you are there with her

I would tell her I saw you first
You were mine first
I made love with you first
And you loved me first

She loved me back first
I love you very much too
But after I introduced you to her
You got greedy and decided why not have us both

Instead of just me
What a great idea you must have thought
But not with me, Baby, I'm nobody's patsy
Tonight both of you will pay the price... … …
