Love Poem: Past Love

Past Love

A cold day as this reminds me of the good old days;
when we were together, holding hands and kissing nights away.
Now on a cold day like this one that chills my bones;
I wonder where you're at.
On the sat-covered streets where the bare-feet freeze as they carve pathways,
through an already paved road;
they smile and hold each other close as I sit and freeze alone,
while I wonder where you're at.

A bouquet of roses given to you by another hand... another heart.
It hurts me to wonder like this about you,
but my heart is still there.
My heart still crawls out of the bed of the past,
and it's listening to those old songs,
and it remembers those cold nights together;
close at hand we were.

Living in the past is not the way to go,
but when the heart knows no other happiness it shall stay in the past and smile.
That's all I have left,
leave me now,
go on with your day,
your life;
I can't blame you for moving on,
getting high,
fly to Cloud 9,
see the Red Dragon we call love;
I can't blame you.
Maybe one day my heart will get sick of the past and want to go to Cloud 9
where the Red Dragon sits,
lips pink and puffed up,
and that beautiful, but scary Red Dragon will kiss me,
and I will kiss her,
and I'll smile again.

... And love will follow.
