Love Poem: Parts of Us

Parts of Us

Every time I look at you
my heart bleeds through my eyes.
Whenever my thoughts turn to you
	stars fall from bleeding skies.
My mouth has words I dare not say,
my mind is full of ‘why’s.
Wickedness still lingers, love,
	within your sleepy thighs.
Motionless my life appears
	after those sad goodbyes.
Why does everything you love
	have to wilt and die?
But I believe in forever love,
	better days ahead.
So I refuse to sing the blues
that make my eyes turn red.
For better or worse (hope for the first),
	take it either way.
I kept the parts of us I loved
	and threw the rest away.
