Parting
You left me standing there,
Alone and scared,
Tears falling down my cheeks,
Making small rivulets on my throat.
You said goodbye
Unaware of them.
The night closing in
Like a dark cloud
Enveloping you in it,
Taking you away from me far away.
Your gait was fast
Anxious to get away
The shadows fell all around me
Life seemed so empty
No sound, no hope, no light.
Come back
Come back cries my heart
Hold me, walk with me
Show me the path.
And up there in the sky
The moon smiles sadly
For he knows
He knows that
To meet, to know, to love and then to part
