Parallel Love

Parallel Love

I feel your presence as I gaze through my glass;
As does the pup as it looks towards the sea.
A vexing, perplexing, aperture in time;
A terrestrial connection, which I could not decree.

You are the love, whom I'll never hold;
You are the dream that never can be.
You are the life that eludes my being;
There is no way, I'll ever be free.

There's no one in my realm
Who has your charm nor your wit.
These verses penned in the solitude of despair;
There's no one in my world, whom I shall ever commit.

You are not at all worthless,
As some would have you believe.
Those beings are only deceivers,
And what they do is deceive.

I can see you for the person,
That you really are.
If only I could be with you,
Instead of coupled, to a faraway star.

Your pleasing demeanor and sweet, selfless grace,
The sweetest smile on your most beautiful face.
A most glorious love giving way to frustration,
I would if I could, but cannot erase.

A dream is a virtue not to demean;
Would that I could an Earthly portal to find,
The stairway to the vast Heavens,
To a love of the Angels - a love so sublime.

You are my light and the joy of my life,
If only my thoughts could I transmit to you.
If only I possessed the power to bend time and space,
And for the slightest moment, had the power to pass through.

But alas, my dearest love, it is never to be -
I can only watch you from afar.
Praying that somehow you can hear me or sense,
My lonely, distant discourse from a faraway star.
