Love Poem: Pale Shelter

Pale Shelter

Walking together entwined on garden path
you whispered the tune of autumn breeze.
Your enigmatic smile, the mirage of illusion,
I thought sparkled in my stellar yearning.

The northern wind has now started to blow,
your chilled lips curl like wilted petal of flower.
The diaphanous mist of mystery shrouds you,
so close by my side, yet so far, I can’t decipher.

As the spent sun sets in my pallid twilight sky,
I trace your footprints coming from the cold,
seek the warmth of your charred fire place,
but in your somber hearth I find no fire burn.

My vague sense of frozen belonging lingers
in the glacial crevice of your remote heart.
I’ll light array of thousand candles of desire,
try to melt the ice, don’t know yet if I can.
