How do you put into words
feelings you'd rather not have?
This isn't how it started
And this isn't how it'll end.
But sometimes I wonder
if I shared what's really on my mind,
would you smile and agree with me
or turn away for good?
Deep down I know
something more would not work.
But the crazy idea of it
frequently crosses my mind.
Can you see it in my eyes
when we're doing what we do?
Or are you truly only here
for that hour or two?
