Out of Reach

It is different but appears the same.
All that is familiar, around me.
A different feel, but the same name.
I look, but may forget see.

Many times during the day,
I often walk toward the beach.
Thinking all is well, children at play.
Then I remember, normal is out of reach.

Visitors on the beach enjoy the sun.
Forgetting to avoid those that are near.
A day at the beach is all about fun.
They believe there is nothing to fear.

Spending time in a favorite beach town.
Is what the summer is all about.
But do not let your guard down.
Safety is foremost, there is no doubt.

Until we are able to live as we choose.
We must step up and do our part.
So we will no longer have to lose.
Those we love who share our heart.
