Our Sunset and Sunrise
When in love, in deep love
We know or at least are aware of
Each other’s sunset and sunrise
About the rain
About our pain
About our lows
And our highs.
Say what
Love is beautiful
And peaceful
We say hello and goodbye
Many times during the course of the day
When in love
What a wonderful journey
Staring at the sky above
Looking for rainbows
To deal effectively with our lows
While searching for nothing
While hallucinating and dreaming
Of love, hope and peace
To say the least.
When in love
We joke about Mrs. Victor
What a crazy vernacular sense of humor
A lonely dove
Is not what the doctors order
Geese and ducks always walk and travel in pair
To fight sadness, solitude and despair
Of course, we know about
Each other’s breakfast, lunch and dinner
Together, we do a lot
We talk all the time
We smile, laugh, giggle, dream and rhyme.
