Our Sky Without Moonlight

How dark is our sky without moonlight!
Not even the stars can brighten our smile;
are those imagined dreams worthwhile
to make them stay with us until twilight?

Let's be bold in this beautiful wilderness,
let's not fear the swollen clouds that bring rain;
all we worry is what it will become of us...
if that moon hiding from us won't shine again!

How dark is our sky without moonlight!
It's so strange to be waiting in darkness...
while there's brightness everywhere else;
have we ever thought that life is not perfect happiness?
Taking what it gives is very wise, even though we miss
the lovely moments that should be ours tonight!

Whoever says that patience is more than a virtue
doesn't know how sad is the long wait of lovers
who run from loneliness feeling lost and blue...
never seeing the morning with an eagle that soars!
