Our First Date
I recall when youth felt like forever,
for I did not understand grown-up things.
I spent all my time playing childish games,
dreaming of magical dragons with wings.
But in the blink of an eye, my life changed,
with merely a glancing touch of her hand.
I felt feelings I'd never felt before,
it was spontaneous; nothing was planned.
It was like a veil suddenly lifted,
what was once invisible became clear.
And I noticed the hazel in her eyes,
followed by a shy smile that drew me near.
I boldly asked her out for our first date,
and then I stole a kiss; I just couldn't wait!
