Love Poem: Our Changes

Our Changes

when you look at yourself
what do you see?
is a picture of the past
your present quality
we admit that there is change
and change is a must
but when we change ourselves
do we risk a sacred trust?
time is a condition
where with we all must change
our bodies, our minds, our beauty
never stays the same

life is power either to destroy
or to create
relationships with others
based on time
suffer this fate
where the wrinkles ugly
in a selfish being
or where they make wisdom
who's children never leave
was gaining weight a problem
they had while feeding us
or too much diet and exercise
robbers of their love

in the balances
of give and take
who was cheated
and who was fake
with in a span of fifty years
is the love you take
the same as the love you give
(your father and your son)

has time changed
the way you feel for the woman
who was so dear
who walked to an alter
dressed all in white
who with every night
she screams and fights
but loves you as if
you never changed
she; who chose you carefully
knowing special things
required special thoughts
and sacraments of love
are foolishly bought
she who is much wiser than you
did your love out last her youth?
despite all her screams
and fights
did you love her day and night?

when you look upon your self
your budding youth
your failing health
your eternal love
your dying self
is your picture of the past
a picture of a love that last
