Love Poem: Opposites Attract

Opposites Attract

We are the angel and devil on someone’s shoulder.
We are fire and ice.
We are natural enemies.
We were not in gods design.
We were never meant to be,

 but...

Opposites attract.

And that is what makes our love so strange.

Our natural habits creep back at times.
And angry, abusing, hate filled words fly from our mouths,
Cusses flow off the tips of out fluent tongues,
Each insult strikes us like a nine inch nails,
But we will battle on trying not to show our own pain.

We bring out the animals in each other.
When together and happy we catch alight in each other’s heat.
When we do not fight a halo surrounds us both.
When we do fight barbed wire shields us from each other.

When stress fills his body, reaching him is an impossible task
I must wait in the dark till he seeks me.

I will always wait for him as when he comes back to me,
I no that angel inside of him will be present again.
