"As long as you both shall live".
Words I have heard before.
A lifetime of love to give.
No matter, rich or poor.
They were only words to say.
Filling the silence with sound.
If there was meaning, it faded away.
Love was lost, and never found.
We held on for so many years.
One weak, while the other strong.
We would laugh, but cry sad tears.
Our love so right, was wrong.
Almost a lifetime was spent,
pretending we had it all.
Love came, and sadly love went.
What we had built, was to fall.
A vow was made, neither heard.
What else to do, but walk away?
Questions left unanswered.
There were no words left to say.
