Love Poem: Only Time of Now

Only Time of Now

For all those years I loved you
mean nothing to me now
their stories scatter in autumnal winds
and all their longings reach an end
time of now, today, only dreams of tomorrow
and only time of now, yearns for you

Wasted days of memories
no more to turn their tourniquet
their cold heart strings snapped
and vanquished their tightened regret
only this time now
and only now my heart discovered you

Gone is lachrymose love
it’s dark eyed stain haunts no day
nor whimpers in it’s sorrow
such as it was, was burned away, by a smile
and there only now it lay in your arms
and whispered of love deep to my soul

Farewell then gray nights of grayer days
upon your sea of unrequited pass to the celestial mist
these things they matter not
no longer carry their empty cup
but poured from the very kernel of life
this vessel is filled

Hello, it is, my love
to be born again, your name, upon my tongue
time of now only for today longs for you tomorrow
for in each kiss was placed a breathless truth
and each moment spoke out loud of love
and my love has grown inside you

Hi there, it is, my beautiful
just as your laughter is my own declaration
as your eyes hold me in enchantment
hand in hand this birth entwined
this love of mine
for you

Time of now, today, only dreams of tomorrow
and only time of now, yearns for you
