Love Poem: Only Human

Only Human

When you left
felt like my leg
up and sailed away,
left the rest of me here to stay.

Felt like my wings
had been clipped,
all I could do was wish
you'd remember what you left.

But I stood up
and toughened up
and stared 'lost and abandoned'
down til I won
and learned what
strength was.

My very own leg caught me when I was about to fall,
turns out I hadn't lost it to you after all.

My very own wings flew me out of harms reach
and I've got no one to thank but me.

But thank you, thank you.
You were the one to teach
me that who I need the most should be me.

Sometimes, I'm aware, my legs and wings go weak
and all I need is you next to me.
That's ok, yeah that's ok.
I'm only human and I love you.
I'm only human and I love you
