Once Love Is Gone

Lonely has a color and it is blue
I never knew that until I lost you
Senses become sharper once love is gone
I can smell your hair as I watch the dawn
Light up this roach infested room with red
That will turn blue to match my aching head -
Then blue will reign as the North wind will blow
The dampness of clouds and fog to and fro
There's a bottle of wine on the table
I hear the fog horn and read the label
Soon my throat will burn and the day will start
I will taste the tears from a broken heart
Then wash them down with a two dollar wine
And turn my senses to grapes of the vine
