Love Poem: On Phone

On Phone

I got hers from them
She got mine from them too
I tarried for a day
She waited to hear my voice

I called one night at last
Her voice was pleasant and sweet
Mine, splendid and natural
All still on phone

Both smarting from a stab on heart
Our wound healed fast
Looks desperate to receive each other
Throwing caution off consciously

It was in Allen-Ikeja, Ayo’s place
But it was a true life story of my life
In love with a lady on phone,
Ibukun (IBK) Odetunde, for we’ve never met.
