On Bended Knee

On Bended Knee

On bended knee, I ask you, will you be my Valentine?
Say yes, and I'll be happy, if you will still be mine.

These years we've spent together, been so glad to have your hand.
And while I'm here, on bended knee, I'd like to thank the man.

I know he brought you to me, could not have found you on my own
Had seen the ways, it should not be, when other seeds were sown

Roads that we have traveled, mostly good, but sometimes rough.
I thank the Lord, you've stayed with me, and never cried enough!

I could go on forever, but I'm old, my knee is sore
Please say yes and I'll be happy, to get off this hardwood floor

Could not resist, to put that in, just a little joke of mine
But it's not a joke, when I ask you, will you still be my Valentine?

My wish for everyone, on this Valentine's Day 2016. is that you have someone in your life that makes you as happy as my wife, Barbara, makes me in mine
Happy Valentine's Day to all!
