November Rain
No longer do I see your eyes--
only sorrow, soft and plain.
The ache within refuses quiet,
falling like cold November rain.
It wasn't meant to last forever,
and won’t be found in time again.
Still in dreams, we walk together,
lost beneath November rain.
Day by day, I wake in vain,
to a life that’s slipped away,
to echoes I can’t hold again,
drowned in cold November rain.
I long to feel you close once more,
to hear your voice speak my name,
to dry my tears, to ease the war
waged by cold November rain.
Life’s a mystery--some paths alone,
some heavy with unspeakable pain.
We carry grief until we’re called
home through cold November rain.
