Love Poem: November
Krish Radhakrishna Avatar
Written by: Krish Radhakrishna

November

tread on dry leaves slowly, softly,
in death they lie yellow, curly,
cold frosty mornings freeze their zeal,
yet they hold romantic appeal,
cast off from trees in late slumber,
Year in the month of November!

lonely hearts come, wander this way,
search memories of a lost day,
chorus of birds watch from the trees,
melody, harmony and peace,
park bench beseeches a brief stop,
seeking my warmth as more leaves drop!

night skies fill with fire display,
to mark misguided Guy Fawkes* day,
as I eye the winding path home,
end of my long nostalgic roam!
most await festive December,
but lonely hearts love November!

a lost hare gives me a quick look,
then scurries to a nearby brook,
across which nature paints a coat,
fallen leaves amidst lover’s boat,
beauty beckons where eye can see,
but heart desires you were with me!
