Nothing More To Lose

As shadows shift and day departs Dusk bruises the sky, black and blue. And like a billion bleeding hearts, Sol absorbs a bright scarlet hue. Infidelity's surreal, severing your heart in mid-beat. And although his love isn't real, leaving is a difficult feat. Wounded feelings fester within as the sun abandons the sky. For tomorrow, cannot begin with the words of a whispered lie. Filling your heart with fear and dread, depression and anger compete. And reflecting on what was said, exposed his level of deceit. You cannot say why love didn't last, so you question your heart for clues. For all your dreams lie in the past, and now, you’ve nothing more to lose.
