Not Just Another Wonderful Woman

This poem is written for a woman I love. I think about her every day.
I had to write these thoughts to her, and tell her thinags I need to say.

I wanted to thank her for taking me in, and treeating me as if I were her own.
The love that she gave me was like from a “mom”,
this kind of love I’d never been shown.

She was my Mother-In-Law, “was”, only because, her son was taken away.
But this one wasn’t the first for her. How could life treat her that way?

He was the last son to leave her behind. The last one on a list of three.
Who’d of ever thought the limbs would be cut, so short from her family tree.

One stronger than her, I don’t believe I’ve met. The pain, she keeps buried inside.
But when you look deep in her eyes you can’t help but see,
the tears there that she has to hide.

But she just keeps smiling through life everyday. A pillar of strength in my heart.
And I just want her to know how I feel, even though we are miles apart.

I owe her much thanks for sharing with me, ththough wonderful part my life.
And let her know what a privilege it was, to be, for a short time his wife.
