Love Poem: Not a Trophy Anymore

Not a Trophy Anymore

Not A Trophy Anymore

Wasn’t meant to be stuffed
 In a suburban house
Surrounded by box shrubs,
Waiting for my husband
To come home.

I want to roam,
To be in the world,
Living a life of adventure,
Not full of boredom.

I want a voice and a skill,
Besides cooking a hot meal.

It’s no big deal,
But that’s how I
Lost my boyfriend’s will
To be with me.
I’m no trophy to him anymore.
