Love Poem: Nook In Arms

Nook In Arms

the only place
with proper angles

past rural side markets
purchased candy baked beans
incessantly irresistible

throw back red & natural locks
pop in dvd/vhs view movies

particularly for some one else
occasionally me

watch as day shadows rise
above refinished shingles

casts at half past three
begrudge how time flies

why it’s barely a stay
when the night is single

plenty laughs there were
parlay inevitable good byes

music seemingly insist
loitering my head from

back stage passes Dwele sings
persistence keeps Michelle Ngdecello
from making a fool of me

discourage melancholy solitaires
ride slopes past nose and cheeks

I find the sinewy refuge
plant myself safely...
worship the nook in his arms
