Love Poem: Nonsense

Nonsense

A bunch of nonsense, a smidgen of spite,

a dash of illusion, a small oversight.

Pressure builds up, no way to ignore,

when I close my eyes, a sudden downpour.

Holding my breath, fighting for air,

I push it away, 'cause I mostly don't care.

I threaten the storm, yet walk on thin ice,

I close myself, but that's just my device.

Expose the layers, take it as you will,

life is life-- it's not just a firedrill.

Words are just words, no matter what they say

love isn't love till you give it away.

In the story in my head, the thoughts are clear,

but listening isn't listening, if you don't choose to hear.

Harsher than it seems, but not really, sometimes,

I remember the journey, our many mountainclimbs.

Days are changing, hearts still remain,

sometimes it's the sun, sometimes it's the rain.

Further from nothing, walking the path

Still I fear anger, the pain and the wrath.

Searching for something, I lose my way

I could find it in you, but you always look away.

Pain, it festers, like a burning inside,

You've got to stay still, when you'd rather run and hide.

You move towards something, holding on tight.

and let go in your heart, when you know it's right.

Nonsense is just nonsense, a word to be defined,

Time can make you bitter, or spite can turn to pride.

Feel it with your heart--imagine if you will...

Close your eyes, and for a moment, just be still

It happens every time, but a day is just a day.

The heart can't stay if you make it go away.
