Love Poem: No Trespassing

No Trespassing

Tell her you think she’s beautiful
But speak from the heart.
She’s heard that line too many times
And you’ve thought that line too many times.

If you have something nice to say, say it
But say it so you mean it.
Even if that means dumping nonsense words
From your mouth…

She has very little time on this Earth
As do you.

If you worry about the way you love, don’t.
Most men’s maps are jumbled.
Like safari explorers bumping along
In pursuit of love’s proper direction.

There are times when we need to just stop.
Slow down...
With the rest of creation.
And forget our trespasses.
