No Regrets, But One.

Moon both waxing and waning in perfect harmony,
Stars carpeting the pure black sky.
Ice forming on the dew, breath freezing in gentle puffs.
Picture perfect the plan was set
invited to the private inner sanctum
unworldly treasures priceless in their simplicity
valued beyond all riches.

your warmth enveloped me, reassured me.
Trust , explicit and given freely.
two lonely souls seeking solace on life's rugged highway.
Joys shared with boundless expression
hopes, dreams, plans formed and reformed.

Time to depart from the joyous start.
dreams and hopes fade with reality's harsh gaze.
Was it you who first saw the cracks appear?
Hope replaced by fear.
Surely together we can fight the demon and win?
The riteous stand tall whilst the evil will fall.

In true cavalier style you take the reins
decide to do battle but on your own.
leaving me to ponder why?
You resist my pleas to help.
were our dreams too hard to grasp,
or was I too dreamy for your love!

Time stands still whilst you retreat
I give you my blessings. It is what you need.
My doubts come flooding in,
perhaps I have made you leave?
I pannic in my fears, my pain envelopes me.

No it is true, the final blow has come
my breath leaves me as you say "no more"
How could I have read you so wrong?
We agreed no regrets. No regrets I say, but one.
