No More Albatraoz

It has always been that smile
First time it flashed and I knew I was in a pit
I fought for coffee, you stood by liquor
I should’ve known…

It was wrong to let someone in too early
Provoked by liquor, convinced by loneliness
Our first meeting had to go through mourning
I mourned alone... I should’ve known…

I met you more and more
Fell for my own delusion while you were unsure
I can’t keep up. You are now ghosting
I should’ve known…

Occasions on a weekend
Conversations trashed on a dead-end
It’s clearer now, I am more than your troll
Should I have known?

I am not freezing, but I am cold
I am not wounded, but pinched
I am not crying, but yawning
Should I have known?

And just like that we faded
The SMS I’m getting past 10pm on a weekend
How could I miss the signs of a booty call?
I should’ve known…
I am too worth it to be in your downfall.
