No Happily Ever After

No happily Ever After (20190126)

We were meant to be together,
I always chose to believe.
I guess I loved you too much
To ever think you’d leave.
I made the wrong assumption.
Bet ‘All In’, lost everything.
“No happily ever after”
Will be all I’ll ever sing

Every future I considered
Involved you as my bride.
For both the good and bad times
I’d be there by your side.
But you had never let on
That you didn’t feel the same.
No happily ever after
And I’ve just myself to blame.

(Chorus)
This wound just won’t scar over,
And it probably never will.
Since you said that it was over,
My hearts been bleeding still.
No happily ever after;
My heart keeps bleeding still.

They all say there’s others out there,
Those other fish in the sea.
But I felt that you and I
Were always meant to be.
So much for wishful thinking,
And so much for what could be.
No happily ever after
Were the cards they dealt to me.

(Chorus)
This wound just won’t scar over,
And it probably never will.
Since you said that it was over,
My hearts been bleeding still.
No happily ever after;
My heart keeps bleeding still.
