Love Poem: Night With You

Night With You

Night with You

Damn this guy is cute,
from his dreadlocks to his boots,
daydreaming of being his boo,
and he's checking me out too.
With a few quick looks over his shoulder,
he finally walks over,
feeding me lines I've heard time and time,
like what's your name, age and sign.
We talked and talked until there was nothing left to talk about,
when he had to leave, I couldn't help but pout.
A smile soon returned when we exchanged numbers and such.
We both made promises to keep in touch.
Hour long conversations for about two weeks,
that's when we finally decided to meet.
From the movies, to dinner, to his house we went,
thinking to myself, this guy is heaven sent.
Comfort like we've known each other for years,
on cloud nine without a care.
Sweaty palms and butterflies,
gazing into his eyes made things intensify.
He grabbed my hand and led me to his room,
asking myself, if this is happening too soon.
Worry turned to passion with the meeting of our lips,
watching seductively as my pants he unzipped.
Like a love whirlwind things happened so quick,
lust and ecstasy were thrown in the mix.
An hour passed when we finally winded down.
Panting and heavy breathing were our only sounds.
Satisfaction drifted us into a solemn sleep,
dreams of our future were interrupted by an alarm beep.
I awoke the happiest I'd been in a while,
turned to my left and was greeted by a smile.
Floated home and waited for a call.
Unfortunately that didn't happen at all.
Three days passed without a word,
his voice mail recording was all I heard.
I thought he was different, thought he was true.
Back tracking our night to see if there were clues.
I won't pretend that I'm not hurt,
there were some nights I even slept in his shirt.
But I've moved on, there will be others,
The world is filled with good looking brothers.
