Love Poem: New Conversation

New Conversation

I know a secret that the rest of the world don’t,
I could probably tell you but I probably won’t.

It might have to do with the number of hairs,
That exists on the outside of juicy ripe pears.

Or it might have to do with girls in bikinis,
Or the best kind of olives to float in Martinis.

If you don’t know what it is that I’m talking about yet,
Then the ship’s out of dock when the sun starts to set.

And when the time comes for you to take sides,
I’ll take my turn on your piggyback rides.

‘Cause push comes to shove like everything does,
Now wait, I remember it’s the peach has the fuzz.

Play me that song that we all sang last night,
I remember it’s long and it turns to the right.

And I walked and I walked till I came to the end,
Because we were young with money to spend.

But I knew it was you by the curve of your face,
And I remember it’s you that I could never replace.
