Love Poem: My World Turned Upside Down

My World Turned Upside Down

As glistening tears down my cheeks trickle,
you whisper beautiful words in my ear.
Precious metal band slips over knuckle,
you're everything in this world I hold dear.

You whisper beautiful words in my ear,
never imagined us here, that's a fact.
You're everything in this world I hold dear,
signatures on paper to seal the pact.

Never imagined us here, that's a fact,
betrayal has replaced love with malaise.
Signatures on paper to seal the pact,
no choice now but to go separate ways.

Betrayal has replaced love with malaise,
precious metal band slips over knuckle.
No choice now but to go separate ways,
as glistening tears down my cheeks trickle.
