Love Poem: My Whole World Is Gone

My Whole World Is Gone

I have nightmares every night
It's so hard to find the light
In the darkness haunting me
It will never set me free
Years and years inside my head
I can't shake the words you said
Cutting me inside so deeply
Every single night they keep me
Awake--my eyes always open
Why were many harsh words spoken
Between you and I that night
Causing such a deadly fright
Couples can fight and debate
But before it was too late
WE would work it out together
Even in stormiest weather
But this time inside your eyes
Was someone I didn't recognize
As I tried to fix what's broken
On my part--harsh words were spoken
You cut me off in mid sentence
As a ranting raving vengeance
Came out of an angry face
I couldn't find a single trace
Of the one I love as you
Found the strength to push right through
The door where I tried to stand
Reaching out to grab your hand
I didn't want to let you go
You pulled away turning to show
The blank so very scary
Then rushed off--I had a weary
Feeling deep inside so strong
You're gonna do something wrong
Never answering your phone
I searched everywhere you'd roam
No text messages and mail
I tried hard never to fail
Our relationship at all
Then one day I got the call
They found your body full of drugs
Lying on a motel rug
Your world has ended--mine has too
Now heaven has taken you
Whatever made you lose the grip
On life causing you to dip
Into such bad turmoil
Alone leaving you to fall
Into a place so secret
I couldn't help you out of it
