Love Poem: My Turquoise Sea

My Turquoise Sea

A memory triggered by my cologne
A crisp clean scent, like morning dew
Days of chaos and confusion
Hoping for relaxation
The sound of a gentle rain tape playing in the background
Lulling the children to sleep at rest time
Laundry, dishes, housework and ten children
Day after day
Monotony
Then there was the neighbor
His smile, his laugh, his turquoise eyes
Shining and dancing with magic
His voice and words oozing charm
His heart so sensitive and full of spirit
Tenderness dripping from every vein of his body
Sexy and mysterious, muscular and gentle
His soul alive with adventure
A drifter cowboy type
He picked me up with one swift movement
And placed me on a pedestal
Rescuing me from the dreariness
He pressed his lips to mine and I knew
The ordinary quickly faded away
My toes curled and my heart melted like butter
I drifted as if caught in the wind on fairy dust
Into the depths of the turquoise sea that surrounded me
His eyes, my cologne, and the whirlwind of euphoria
