My Sweet Granny B.

My dear old grandma had so few luxuries God rest her soul,
But that wasn’t what she was about, that wasn’t her goal.
It was all about her family and the love she had for them,
And it wasn’t a part time thing, she was a rough cut diamond but still a precious gem.

When we would get in trouble, Granny was there to smooth out the wrinkles,
I can still see her smile and how her big blues eyes would glimmer and twinkle.
I remember in her lap I felt so safe and secure,
That nothing could touch me she had all the answers she was the cure.

I just hope now that Granny has left this world for the next,
She finds as much happiness as she has given in a world so perplexed.
But I know that she will cause that is just her way,
Cause when she would open her eyes it was like an automatic good day.

I sure miss my old Granny and the love that she gave,
I wished there was a way I could have bottled her love and placed on a shelf somewhere
safe to save.
But I do have those fond memories that she gave to me,
And I’ll never forget her my sweet Granny B.
