Love Poem: MY SONG HAS ALWAYS BEEN YOU

MY SONG HAS ALWAYS BEEN YOU

In between the blues and my searching soul
I found you
reaching for faraway snowy mountains
but falling for snowflakes

Snowflakes dissipate too soon as we all know and
faraway stars no matter their brilliance can never be reached
but in my confused search and idle stupor I was close
our love had to be coincidental

Two lost sheep in the cold seeking
a friendly harbor in which to find rest
and I found a bright, happy mate
someone who would captivate my heart with her kindness

Her angelic smile sent my heart aflutter
(a man’s heart can flutter)
and it can be struck silly
as well as his head do pinwheels

Finding love is special
And you can become love struck
Man woman or idiot
We feel the love that the good Lord injected in us

That love, helps us weather the storm of blues that accost us
day or night it’s always there to bind our wounds of stupidity
prayers help those looking for love
Love is out there, just don’t give up.
