Love Poem: My Rope

My Rope

no one will read this like you will.
if you ever do.
it tore me,
tore me to pieces,
broken on the floor.

these walls sink
into the tears
cried like never before..
and i hear my echo,
return, the screams,
too loud to bear.

Cradled my knees,
all alone at once.
can't even breathe,
through the strangling
words i can't speak.

I let go of my rope.
it was my only hope.
lead me where i should go.
And then i let go,
i should have known.
You'd keep walking on,
i wouldn't be able to stand alone.

In the hallway
drowning below.
my feet grow number,
can't stand anymore.

can't open my eyes,
gasping for air.
gripping the ground,
pulling my hair.

shaking uncontrollably.
hoping it'll all come back to me.

no one will see me like
you did,
but not anymore.
It broke me,
broke me like glass and
i shattered upon the floor.

no one will understand me,
like you would.
It tore me,
tore me to pieces
no glue to put me back.

You held my rope,
it was my only hope,
took me where i should go,
But then then rope broke
and i too, broke.
you kept moving on,
wouldn't dare to walk alone.

silence i hear,
my breathing, its tone.
my voice in the air,
screaming alone.

they're marks on the wall,
screams in the ground.
its buried below me,
trying to get out.

It was my rope.
the last, only hope.
you lead me where i should go,
but that rope broke,
and i let go.
you didn't turn around,
left me standing, never found.
