Love Poem: My Prince Charming

My Prince Charming

I have many happy memories of my yesterday life,
     I made up stories about my dreams and finding love;
Playing make-believe was something I was happy to do,
           I could do that for hours and hours and hours.

Father made me a table and chairs for tea parties,
     Grandma gave me her old clothes and old jewels;
Mother said, "that girl sure can tell stories and stories,"
           And I did tell stories of finding my true love.

Oh yes, I dreamt of meeting my prince charming,
      And I did, the moment I saw him I knew true love;
My heart and soul are his forever and for all eternity,
            Our love is like a stream that goes on and on.

At first, we both had great fear and hesitation,
      I thought how can this be, "is it but a dream;"
Will it last or will it die like a flower in a storm,
           But our new love was deep and grew in time.

His hand in mine brought me love and tranquility,
      I would tell him stories of my childhood dreams;
And he would listen for hours and hours and hours,
           And he would tell me his stories, as well.

Oh yes, I dreamt of meeting my prince charming,
       And I did, the moment I saw him I knew true love;
My heart and soul are his forever and for all eternity,
            A touch, would put us in the mood for love.

He was my lover, my friend and my protector,
      We could talk for hours or lay together in silence;
His touch was rapture and our love was magical,
          But the Lord had another destiny for my prince.

               My heart and soul are his forever and for all eternity,
                                      Although he dwells with the Lord above.
