My Prayer

I have said a silent prayer,
To The One that is Up There,
That I will always be,
The man that you want to see,
Coming Home to you at night,
After my daily freeway fight.
That I will always end, and start,
Your day, First in your Heart!
The Man that will constantly propose,
To You, holding a huge Red Rose!
All these things, I asked of Him,
Though the chances of a reply are slim.
So I'll have to do it all alone,
I'll work my fingers to the bone,
To be sure to earn your Love,
So you value me above
Any other man you know,
The One that gives You a Lover's Glow!
I'll make mistakes along the way,
But I promise, 'til my dying day,
I will keep You in my Heart,
And never will I tear apart,
The Love it's taken Time to build,
The One that I always willed,
Would see me through my daily fight,
'Til I walk into The Light!
