My Platonic Love

Smiling and laughing,
It’s about the best thing around.
Keeping each other company,
Cause there’s nothing better to do in this town.

Sitting here waiting,
Until you leave.

Coming up quick..
Let’s just run away from it.

A depressing face I make,
When the last day comes.
I don’t want to upset you..
But now who will battle me with my thumbs?

Out creeps a smile,
Just as I was hoping
Nobody will miss you like me
I’ll have a hard time coping.

Watch you as I leave to go home
Remembering the last thing I said,
"Bye, Noah."
And in a blink you’re gone.

Barely keep in touch..
Watching our friendship slowly expire and slip away.
Feeling almost empty,
Now that you can’t stay.

Haven’t seen your face in so long
A big mistake that was
My assumption was wrong

Get a call and you’ve been hurt
Pull over and take it in
He says you’re okay but I’m still on high alert.

Next thing I know, you’re back at home.
But, soon worry fills the air..
I press the call button
Then boom, you’re there.

Feel like I could cry.
Seeing your face,
Hearing your voice,
It’s been such a long time...

Smiling and laughing,
It’s about the best thing around.
Keeping each other company,
Cause there’s nothing better to do in this town.
