Love Poem: My Other Lover

My Other Lover

as I wait for her return
I'm filled with the blues
to my comfort
my other lover is near
I reach to her
she is in my hands
my left hand makes shapes
while my right tickles
and strokes her
she screams
speaking in tones
moaning in bass
screaming with highs
it seems she whispers my name
we've reached an emotional
                HIGH
better than mushrooms
or ecstasy
she soothes my soul
we frolic playfully
my burdens have slipped away
bless the day
she came into my life
sometimes the one I wait for
gets jealous of her
saying I spend to much
time with her
she is just paranoid
making faces
hiding behind smiles
and pulling strings
afraid she'll lose me
I know what's under her
pale white skin
in days past
when it suited her need
me and the one
cradled in my arms
were playing and singing
in those bars
her and I rocked the house
playing sweet melodies
putting our sorrows into the blues
that was then
this is now
the agenda has changed
but my love can not
for I will always be near to her
because she gives me solice
taking me where no one
or nothing can touch me
that what my other lover
the guitar does for me
