Love Poem: My Only Gripe

My Only Gripe

She worked down at the car hop
Serving trays to those who paid
I just wanted to be that pillow
Where her pretty face laid
She looked like a diva
Her body was super fine
And lardy how I dreamed
That one day she’d be mine
She always flipped me off
Which made me love her more
She was gonna be mine buddy
On that I really swore
I asked her out numerous times
Always got a flat no
I think she’s playing hard to get
It’s just something we studs know
I took another drag of a joint
My nerve was ready at last
The time of waiting was over
Tonight I’d show her a blast
I grabbed her by her arm
As she skated by my car
She turned and slapped my face
Yep, really, really hard
Man, I know she loves me
Man, I know she cares
I can see the stars above
Or am I seeing flares?
No matter what I’m seeing
I’m seeing her tonight
She might as well get ready
For a cat and dog fight
We tussled and we fought
My face became black and blue
But I wasn’t gonna stop
It’s not what us studs do
Her fists were like lightning
And soon I was floating on air
She’d tossed me into a dumpster
Which to me meant she cared
I crawled back out once more
And smiled with my broken face
She then kicked me you know where
Which put me in my place
I no longer go that street anymore
Evidently I’m not her type
All she had to do was say no
That’s my only gripe
